Randi's Corner

September 17, 2019

back to blog

Ditching the traditional wedding cake and want to opt for mini desserts for your wedding instead? You’ve come to the right place for inspiration!

Mini desserts are making their way as a new wedding trend and we are loving it!

We, of course, love the traditional wedding cake but mini desserts for your wedding are such a great way to bring variety and fun to your dessert table!

Here are a few of our favorite dessert table ideas for our brides.

PS: Have you visited our Raleigh bakery yet? Our boutique cake + confectionery studio located at
606 N. Person Street, right here in Raleigh, NC. We would love to welcome you there!

Croquembouche at wedding

1. Croquembouche

Croquembouche pronounced [kroh-kuhm-boo-shiz], is a French dessert meaning “crunch in the mouth”. It is simply a beautiful cream puff tower held together by caramelized sugar.

You can get creative with colors, flavors, or displays; like the photo above. A Croquembouche can also be decorated with editable flowers, chocolate, or sugared almonds.

Personally, I think that a croquembouche adds an extra touch of sophistication to your reception.

2. Macarons

Macarons are a top-five mini dessert for us because they are not only delicious but they also provide stunning colors, an overall clean look, and there are so many different ways you can style them!

Our Citrus themed inspired wedding has additional macaroon photos. Also below are a few macron flavor ideas for your wedding.

Some of our other favorites are s’mores, key lime, and apple crumble.
