Misty Mountain Winter Wedding Inspiration

The cake that made me love winter.

I have a confession that may not come as a big surprise – I hate the winter months. I’m a summer girl (duh, I’m a Bahamian) and I’m partial to fall (I’m a pumpkin spice fanatic), so the cold is not my friend. When I first moved to NC, I wanted to move to Florida so badly but my parents wouldn’t let me. Then, something dropped in my inbox and shifted my mindset a little – it was these photos from Live View Studios. I was pleasantly surprised to see this Raleigh wedding cake make it all the way to the mountains.

I was instantly a fan of all things winter. The warm hues paired with slate blue, the berries, and mountain backdrop – I mean how could you not fall in love with fall?

Brent of Live View Studios hosted the Film Gathering – a retreat for Film photographers. While I wasn’t able to make the trip to the mountains, I knew that everyone onsite had an amazing time and captured so many amazing photos. The pictures were even featured on Style Me Pretty!

The shoot featured a color palette of rich hues – oranges, blues, and reds stole the show and played off of the nature elements. The cake was decorated with torn wafer paper to give the cake a natural look and decorated with cake flowers.
