Rain, rain go away! Thankfully, even during the rain, Emily and Buddy didn’t let gray skies overshadow their wedding celebration at The Victorian. Working with a team of amazing wedding professionals made even this rainy day a thing of beauty. There were even five rain backup plans ready to go! With a tent in place, Emily and Buddy’s beautiful day was protected. I’m so happy that I could provide their wedding cake in Youngsville.

Owned by Guiliana + Brian, The Victorian was originally a home built in the late 1800’s, and was carefully and beautifully restored. It is a perfect venue to enjoy cocktails in the courtyard beneath the beautiful magnolia tree, and dinner under the stars with friends and family. I absolutely love traveling to The Victorian for weddings and delivering wedding cakes to Youngsville.

For Emily and Buddy’s gorgeous cake, we focused on pressed edible flowers which add so much beauty and sophistication to a cake without the wilting of traditional flowers. These edible flowers for Emily and Buddy’s cake were sourced from a farm in California, and we primarily used microflowers and pansies. The key to getting this dreamy pressed look was to add a simple piping gel to the back of each flower to ensure none of the flowers would fall off the cake during the day. I really hope that this very organic approach to cake decorating stays.

And just in case this delicious cake wasn’t sweet enough, Buddy and Emily completed their sweet wedding day with dessert shooters, perfect for a fall day: apple pie and blueberry and lemon cheesecake!
