A few months ago, Taylor and Matt got married at the historic Carolina Inn on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill. It was a beautiful day filled with heartfelt details and I had the pleasure of making their classic wedding cake for the reception.
Taylor and Matt chose a simple buttercream design for their wedding cake and different flavors for each of the three tiers. The top tier was Madagascar vanilla bean cake with vanilla buttercream filling. The middle tier was lemon cake with lemon curd. The bottom tier was dark chocolate cake with chocolate ganache. Needless to say, there was a tier for anyone’s taste profile!
In order to tie the cake into the rest of the wedding décor, we placed a few stems on it. Fresh blooms perfectly enhance almost any wedding cake- especially the soft and fluffy ones.
