1) Bring in the Peach Florals!

If you know me, you’ll know I will never get tired of the color pink on your wedding day. It makes my heart so happy! I also love adding fresh flowers to buttercream wedding cakes. If you are like me and want to give your wedding cake a little something extra, I highly recommend adding more peaches and citrus tones to your wedding florals. When it comes to summer weddings, bring in the peaches!

2) Mix a Classic Color Palette with Modern Touches

Although white florals and greenery have been rising in popularity over the past few years making them seem “trendy”, there really isn’t a more classic color palette. I absolutely love the look, but to add a little uniqueness to your wedding day why not put a modern spin on this classic color palette? For this editorial shoot below, we did just that. The cake design was completely modern, while keeping the classic wedding color palette alive and well.

4) Bring in Soft “Something Blue’s”

Blues are making a big comeback in 2022 summer weddings and I’m here for it. Although you wont find too many natural blue florals in North Carolina, I am always more than happy to put my cake artistry skills to work. Organic and abstract shapes are also giving summer weddings a whimsical feel and the added blue details make for the perfect combination.

5) And Individual Cakes Too

I know that I might be a little biased, but the new trend of individual cakes for everyone is the greatest thing since sliced bread. seriously, there is no greater wow factor at the end of the night (and we LOVE a wow factor around here). If you love wedding cake and are looking for a way to spoil your guests a little, lets talk about adding individual wedding cakes to your summer reception.

6) Cake Alternatives Aren’t Going Anywhere: Bring on the Macarons

Last but not least, if you aren’t really a cake person (or are looking to save on cake cutting fees without sacrificing your guests experience), wedding cake alternatives aren’t going anywhere. Donut walls might be a thing of the past but I absolutely loved this weddings macaron tower for an equally elegant dessert display.
