You would think that someone who works in the wedding industry would have their entire wedding planned out. Not the case with this girl. Now I do have a secret Pinterest board full of wedding ideas (I mean what Pinterest-addicted woman doesn’t have a board full of wedding dresses, updos, and table stylings?) , but to be honest, I really haven’t put too much effort into actual wedding planning. I haven’t asked my cousins to be my bridesmaids. I haven’t finalized the menu. I don’t have a concrete idea of the theme. I do have a dress though! It’s my dream dress and I’m so happy that my parents love it just as much as I do. I would share a sneak peek here, but I can’t risk Jeff seeing it. It’s not that I’m disinterested in the whole process, but I’ve been so engrossed in my work that I haven’t had the time to put everything together.
Thankfully, my first bride of the 2014 wedding season was the complete opposite. Joy knew exactly what she wanted for her special day. From our first email exchange, I realized that Joy has amazing taste. The cake that she asked me to make was simple and stylish, with a touch of glam.
In addition to the carrot cake that the couple cut, Joy also asked me to make mini cakes for your guests. She provided the boxes, ribbon, and stickers (I just love a prepared bride) and decided on NY Style Cheesecake with strawberry compote, carrot cake with maple cream cheese frosting, and decadent chocolate cake.
Congratulations Joy and Maurice! Wishing you all the best!
Stay sweet!
