I know that I always say how Sugar Euphoria’s style isn’t “Southern”. How much we love creating cakes that are “modern”, “edgy”, and “colorful”. Today, I’m eating my words. Not because we don’t love making beautiful cakes that are modern, edgy, and colorful, but because cakes can be all of those things while fitting into a classically Southern aesthetic.
The all-white cake was composed of three tiers, each measuring six inches in height, which is incredibly trendy at the moment. We also incorporated Vera Wang-inspired ruffles on the bottom tier, which may be a new favorite technique of mine – it’s soft and feminine and a little bit edgy. Ashlee of Simply Elegant Floral Designs set the cake on a bed of hydrangeas and topped with a large and beautiful bloom.
And if you’re not sure what a traditional Southern wedding looks like, Lily & Oak successfully created a timeless and elegant shoot, complete with the sweetest Southern details (spoiler alert: there is a really cute pup and an awesome vintage bicycle!).
