editorial, weddings, and personal life
If you ever thought that winter weddings had to be drab or styled using Christmas decor, you are wrong my friend. Forage + Film debunked that idea during The Studio workshop, hosted at The Merrimon-Wynne House in downtown Raleigh. Styled by Happily Ever After and Greenhouse Picker Sisters, this shoot had a bold color palette […]
I have to admit that I first I wasn’t the biggest fan of Pantone’s color of the year – Serenity and Rose Quartz. Initially, I felt that they were a little childish and not sophisticated enough, but boy was I wrong. There is something so cool and sophisticated about the colors – especially when they’re […]
I’m so honored to have a Sugar Euphoria cake named as one of Munaluchi’s Most Beautiful Spring Cakes! Within the Munaluchi community there are so many talented cake artists and I’m constantly inspired by them. Please head over to their blog to see cakes by Dana Herbert of Desserts by Dana, Sabrina Hare of Couture Cakes by Sabrina, along with designs by cake artists Van Earl, Sherese Payne, Stephanie Sanders and Elizabeth Solaru.
In case you missed it, A. J. Dunlap hosted the second Darling Wedding Workshop at The Glassbox earlier this month. The Darling Wedding Workshop is “a workshop for creative women. A place where women can build uplifting community and have hands-on experience at the same time.” While this workshop was just for photographers, the next one will encompass other creative fields. I’m so excited for A.J. and the future of her workshop.
Here’s a little known fact about me. I’m a sucker for bright, bold colors against a neutral background. No baby pink and mint green for me! Give me fuschia and neon orange. Give me crazy, mismatched prints. Give me the deep greens of tropical plants. Unfortunately, my Jeffery doesn’t share my love for colorful decor and is perfectly fine with brown leather couches and light gray couches. He’s definitely super manly and super traditional in his own design aesthetic, so I’ve made it my mission to combine our two opposite styles. I haven’t been successful so far, but I’m trying really, really hard to make it work. In the meantime, I’m dead set on turning the bakery into my own design oasis.
Elopements are near and dear to my heart. It’s a little know fact that Jeffery and I eloped 9 months before our wedding in Nassau. As much as I enjoyed the celebration with our friends and family, there was something so peaceful and so…right about only having our immediate family witness our union. We walked into Duke Gardens at dusk and had a twenty minute ceremony. It was perfect for that time in our lives.
Legacy.
Legacy.
That’s a pretty heavy word right there. I’ve been thinking about what my legacy will be ever since attending the Making Things Happen Conference. After some serious soul-searching, I realized that my legacy was so much more than my handing off my recipe box to my daughter,
I know that I always say how Sugar Euphoria’s style isn’t “Southern”. How much we love creating cakes that are “modern”, “edgy”, and “colorful”. Today, I’m eating my words. Not because we don’t love making beautiful cakes that are modern, edgy, and colorful, but because cakes can be all of those things while fitting into […]
I’m so excited to start the week off by sharing this absolutely gorgeous editorial that featured in Trendy Bride Magazine. It’s one of two Sugar Euphoria features in the beautiful publication and I’m just so honored that I was asked to be included in this shoot with such a stellar cast of vendors. There are […]
I think that it is so important for a bride to have the ‘getting ready’ process document on her wedding day. There is something so magical about the moments a bride spends getting ready with her bridesmaids. The luxury of getting your hair and make-up done. The gleam in everyone’s eyes as the bride puts on […]
