Hi! It’s been a while since I’ve blogged, but I had a good reason, I promise! I was so busy prepping for two wedding expos that I neglected this little blog of mine. It wasn’t in vain, though.
On Wednesday, Jeff and I headed to Charlotte for The Not Wedding. I mixed and mingled at the Rehearsal Dinner. Thursday morning, the day of the event, I got up and finished baking the treats for the dessert table. I packed up the car, headed to the Levine Museum, and enjoyed the rest of the day. On Friday, we headed back to Raleigh, where I baked over 10 sheet cakes and packaged 1,000 pieces of cake for the Southern Bridal Show. Over the past weekend, I spoke to hundreds of gorgeous brides-to-be and their entourages. I was definitely exhausted, but it was worth every second because I had an amazing time at both The Not Wedding in Charlotte and the Southern Bridal Show in Raleigh.
It was an honor to be a vendor at the 1st Charlotte Not Wedding. Here’s a little bit about The Not Wedding –
The Not Wedding is a bridal show alternative in the form of a big, fake wedding.
“Wedding guests” are brides-to-be who enjoy an emotional ceremony, a tasty dinner and a
dance-party reception while truly experiencing the wedding vendors in action.
The idea is pretty genius if you ask me. It really does flow like a wedding – the vendors create a gorgeous atmosphere, guest witness a cute vow renewal and enjoy awesome food and dessert, and party the night away before vendors pack up and go home happy and exhausted. I can’t wait to share all of the profession photos and videography, so stay tuned.
Here are just a few of the cakes that were on display at the Southern Bridal Expo. I have to say, I always enjoy myself at the fairgrounds. There’s always great food, cool vendors, and some of the sweetest people you will ever meet. If you missed this one, I highly recommend attending the January show – it’s going to be crazy!
Stay sweet.
