Holiday season is upon us, and with it nostalgia and an influx of gratefulness and celebration of all that we are able to do for each other. Unfortunately for some people, the holidays can be a reminder everything that they don't have, with families forgoing the traditional food-centered Thanksgiving dinner and holiday gift-giving and receiving. This year, consider giving just a little bit of your time and/or resources to contribute to those less fortunate than you. Shelters and food banks could always use volunteers and donations, and there are programs like Toys for Tots and Adopt a Family that try to make the holiday season just as exciting for those families without much money. Also, with temperatures steadily dropping, donating warm clothing items like coats, sweaters, scarves, hats and more are also great ways to contribute. After all, at the root of it all, the holiday season is about being grateful and celebrating life, and what better way to do so than with a great show of generosity for those who go without.
